#1 Go where they want to hear about your business.

Join a few local business networking groups. Effective networking is a marketing activity that often produces immediate positive results. Use these opportunities to make better use of your time and relationship building opportunities. Always be sure to volunteer to chair a committee or educational program within the organization or networking group. This way, you’ll be sure to have the spotlight.

Just do a local Google or Yahoo search and you’ll find a multitude of networking opportunities. Try keywords like; Business Networking or Speed Networking. Networking can be addictive and should represent only one of your strategies.

#2 Declare yourself an expert.

Blog sites are always looking for content and Blog marketing is a great new way of reaching your target market. Do a Google or Yahoo search for Blogs that are specific to your industry. Better yet, Blog where your customer is likely to seek information about your industry.

There is also an ancillary benefit to Blog writing. You are continually creating new content. Make sure to categorize your content for easy retrieval. Knowledge rich content can be used in a variety of channels for example, email campaigns, marketing materials and website to name just a few.

Not sure how to get started? Just conduct an interview with a customer, vendor, or anyone involved in your industry and you’ll be on your way. But whatever you do, don’t write your Blog as a commercial. You will likely be overlooked and possibly kicked out.
